Somerset Thrower are a newer quartet from Long Island, NY who play melodic indie/punk reminiscent of Garden Variety and The Agent. That's not a coincidence_ Somerset features two members of The Agent, one of Iron Pier's favorite bands and one of the bands that got us started as a label. Also appearing in Somerset are members of Polygon, Sleepwall, and Halfway to Hell Club. Somerset Thrower play catchy, urgent, hook-laden songs that grab you instantly but that pull from the slightly offbeat, discordant 1990s alt playbook, resulting in something both new and exciting as well as instantly familiar. With a sound that straddles both indie and pop-punk you can catch Somerset playing with bands as diverse as Iron Chic, Self Defense Family, Banquets, Wildhoney, and Weed Hounds.
