Best Ex is the solo project of New Jersey songwriter Mariel Loveland, best known as the former vocalist of Candy Hearts. On Good Girl, she returns to guitar-driven songwriting, drawing inspiration from the melodic hooks and shimmering production of '90s alternative rock. Across eleven tracks produced by Andy Tongren, Loveland explores growing older, identity, and the expectations placed on women with honesty, wit, and emotional clarity.
