Mazatl is a contemporary artist whose relief prints, drawings, paintings, murals, and installations explore themes of unity, nature, introspection, healing, and liberation. He currently resides in Chiapas, Mexico.

“Luz & Sombra” is a collaboration between Tulsa, OK based artist and illustrator Kathleen Neeley and Mazatl. This art piece was conceived as part of a residency project in El Paliacate, a DIY Cultural Space and venue Mazatl is a part of. 

The initial stages of the sketches and concept were developed over video calls and the rest of the process; drawing, carving, printing, signing and numbering were done during the 2 week period of the residency. 

“Luz & Sombra”  is a limited edition collaborative hand-carved and hand-printed Linocut by both Kathleen Neeley & Mazatl.
