Formed in late 2019, FORLORN blend expressionist art, crushing soundscapes and paganism to carve out their own brand of 'Folk Horror'. The juxtaposition of ethereal vocals and haunting soundscapes with chaotic drums and crushing low-level guitars, paired with Megan’s brutal screams, bring together Forlorn’s unique sound and visual identity.
Forlorn turned heads and captivated audiences with their visceral live show whilst touring with and supporting the likes of Devil Sold His Soul, Urne, Svalbard, Ithaca, Palm Reader and Harbinger. The release of singles 'Old Wounds', 'Redeem, Release' and 'Hold Me' received widespread support from Kerrangs! Alex Baker, BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock, BBC Introducing, Total Rock, and multiple rock & metal websites, playlists and podcasts.
Described by Metal Hammer as “a band that we should all be keeping a very close eye on”,
'The Weight Of It All’, which has garnered over 179k streams, was featured in Metal Hammer’s ‘Best metal songs of 2023’, was added to the 'Shockwave', 'Metal UK', 'New Blood' and 'The Pit' playlists on Spotify, received further support from Alex Baker on Kerrang! Radio and Alyx Holcombe on BBC Radio One, and much more. 2023 also saw their song 'Forsaken' feature as part of the soundtrack for the Netflix film 'The Strays' which was the No.1 streamed film in the UK during it's week of release.
With initial releases being produced and recorded by George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe, Monuments) and now a forthcoming debut album co-produced with Sam Bloor (Graphic Nature, Cauldron, Graywave), ‘Aether’ heralds a new dawn for the band and unleashes new horrors as the genre-pushing outfit eagerly anticipate bringing entrancing live rites across the country to uninitiated territories.
