Professing an appreciation for both traditional psychedelic touchstones and rudimentary folk, Japanese Taj-Mahal travellers Kikagaku Moyo (or geometric patterns in their native language) embrace the spirit of experimentation and a roots-based perspective. Whereas a lot of today’s heavy psych tends to focus on guitar heroics, Kikagaku Moyo immerse themselves in sleepy, oriental psychedelia, acid folk and sitar-driven drone structures instead.

Formed in 2012 as a busking collective, their latest full-length, House In The Tall Grass, highlights Kikagaku Moyo‘s audacious move into a pastoral and mediative realm. They are a band to experience, not simply hear. With Kikagaku Moyo representing true psychedelia, they will move the freeform into new territories, inspiring their San Diego counterparts along the way at Roadburn 2018 on both Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 (the East Meets West-jam).
